# Pricing & Fees

Perpetuals at Rails use a straightforward and transparent pricing model, detailed below:

<table><thead><tr><th width="147.87890625">Category</th><th width="134.34375">Rails Fee</th><th width="135.30859375">Network Cost*</th><th>Details</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Platform Access</td><td>$0</td><td>N/A</td><td>There is no cost to create or hold a Rails account.</td></tr><tr><td>Deposits</td><td>$0</td><td><a href="/pages/dZLBuhKOpAwCJ78bnaJ6">Varies based on source network</a></td><td>Deposits from some networks involve bridging and gas fees paid directly from your wallet. Exact fees are shown before confirming.</td></tr><tr><td>Withdrawals</td><td>$0</td><td>0.1% (max $1)</td><td>The cost to cover gas fees is deducted from your withdrawal amount.</td></tr><tr><td>Trading</td><td>See <a href="#dynamic-fee-tiers">Dynamic Fee Tiers</a></td><td>N/A</td><td>A dynamic fee is applied to each executed trade (open and close), depending on the execution type and according to your 30D Rolling Volume.</td></tr><tr><td>Liquidation</td><td>1.0%</td><td>N/A</td><td>In addition to trading fees, a 1% fee is charged on all liquidated positions.</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Network Costs:** On-chain transactions (deposits and withdrawals) may include network fees that users pay directly to the blockchain network. Rails does not receive these fees.

<summary>Execution Type: what are "maker" vs. "taker" orders?</summary>

* **Maker order:** Your order *adds* liquidity to the order book. Maker orders “make” the market.
  * Example: you place a limit order that doesn’t fill right away.
  * These orders have a 0.02% fee applied.
* **Taker order:** Your order *removes* liquidity from the order book. This happens when your order matches instantly against an existing order. Taker orders “take” from the market.
  * Example: a market order or a limit order priced to fill immediately.
  * These orders have a 0.05% fee applied.

Maker orders have lower fees because they add liquidity to the market, helping create deeper order books and tighter spreads. By rewarding makers, everyone benefits from better prices and smoother trading.

You can check if your order is a maker or taker order via the Execution Type field in the [Recent Trades section](/trading/perpetuals/overview.md#recent-trades) in the Trade Summary tab.

## Dynamic Fee Tiers

Our trading fees adapt based on your rolling 30-day trading volume. The more you trade, the lower your fees. Your current tier is recalculated daily based on the last 30 days of trades, and your new fee rate takes effect immediately:

* As your volume **increases**, you’ll automatically move into more favorable fee tiers so high-activity traders benefit from better pricing without any extra steps.
* If your volume **decreases**, you’ll be automatically shifted to the corresponding lower tier.

You can check your current Fee Tier at any time in the [Account Summary panel](/trading/perpetuals/overview.md#account-summary) on the Trading page, using the tooltip next to "Fees".
