Retiring Rails Play FAQ

We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone: we’re retiring Rails Play to make way for Rails Pro, our real-money trading platform. To thank our community whose engagement and feedback brought us here, we’ll be offering an airdrop of the Rails token when it launches later this year.

As we transition to Pro and phase out Play, we’ve compiled answers to your most common questions below. For platform-specific support, please explore all Play help center articles here.

We'll begin shutting down Rails Play 12am UTC Monday May 26th, 2025, but a grace period will be provided for users to maintain access to their accounts.

The final shut down date will be clearly and proactively communicated to all users.

Why are you retiring the Rails Play platform?

Rails Play was an important stepping stone in our journey to building the fastest, most secure digital asset trading platform on the market. Now that we’re ready to launch with real capital, we’re focussing on Pro and encourage all traders to trade on the new platform.

What do I need to do to qualify for the Rails airdrop?

There are a few requirements in order to qualify for the Rails airdrop as follows:

  1. Use Play: You must have had some trading activity on the Rails Play platform between our launch on August 27th 2024 and 12am UTC May 26th 2025, when the last competition ends.

  2. Connect your wallet on Play: You must connect a wallet to your Play account before June 13th 2025.

  1. Customers Only: You cannot be a current employee, investor or affiliate of Rails - this airdrop will go directly to our customers.

What if I’m not eligible for the new Rails platform?

Rails is not yet authorized to operate in certain jurisdictions, and therefore some users will not be permitted to trade on the new platform. The list of supported jurisdictions is expected to grow (with the exception of any sanctioned countries) as we expand, so stay in touch if you’re not supported at launch.

If you're not eligible, you will still be eligible for the airdrop.

How will the Rails token be allocated to users?

Users will be ranked based on two qualifiers:

  1. Total historical points and tokens earned (70%): this includes all points or tokens earned from placing on the leaderboards, referral bonuses, X-Connect rewards, etc.

  2. Trading volume (30%): total lifetime trading volume, including both open and closed positions regardless of win/loss outcome.

70% of the allocated tokens will be granted to the highest points earners, and the remaining 30% to the highest volume traders. This structure is intended to recognize all eligible users, with additional rewards for those who demonstrated exceptional performance on the platform.

The exact number of tokens and ranking distribution logic is still being determined. It will be transparently documented when finalized in June.

When will the airdrop occur?

The date of the airdrop will be confirmed in June. All eligible users will be notified by email.

How will we know if we qualify?

We will contact all users via email notifying them of their eligibility after May 26th, 2025.

If you don't hear from us by June 6th, 2025, please contact us.

How will we receive the airdrop if we qualify?

Tokens will be sent to the wallet address linked to your Play account. Users must ensure a wallet address is connected before the airdrop to receive their tokens.

How do I sign up for Rails?

Eligible users can sign up here on May 29th, 2025.

I have questions. How do I get support?

Please reach out via email to speak with us regarding any questions.
