We are required to verify all individuals and business entities on the Rails platform as part of our Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) regulatory requirements. While we use third-party tools to support this process, there might be some limitations. For instance, some countries lack public access to support this process. If we cannot independently verify the documents you upload, we may request you to get them certified or notarized.

How to certify your documents

To certify your documents, have a qualified individual complete and provide it to Rails when requested.

For business applicants, you may proactively upload the form with your business documents at the Company Document stage of your application (the final step).

Who can certify your documents?

The following individuals are acceptable certifiers:

  • Lawyer

  • Accountant

  • Director or manager of a regulated organization or financial service provider

  • Notary public

  • Member of the judiciary

  • Senior civil servant

Note: For business entities, this person may be employed by your organization but should not be a peer. For example, if you are a director or manager at a financial institution, have the documents certified by a lawyer or accountant, not another director or manager.

What to include in the certification

The certification must be digitally signed and should include the following:

  • Certifier’s name

  • Certifier’s signature

  • Certifier’s role or job title

  • Confirmation that the certifier is an employee of their organization

  • Date of certification

Following these guidelines helps ensure a smooth and secure verification process.
